K'rrik lets you pay 2 life instead of any black mana symbol in a cost. He also has lifelink, and gains a +1/+1 counter every time you cast a black spell. In a mono-black deck full of powerful spells, you can cast them all ahead of schedule by paying life instead of waiting for mana — and K'rrik's lifelink helps recover what you spend.

How it plays

Pay life to cast your most impactful black spells ahead of curve — things that would cost 5 or 6 mana arrive on turns two and three by spending life instead. K'rrik grows with every black spell cast, and his lifelink means every attack recovers some of what you've spent. The deck is built to set up explosive turns where you chain multiple black spells in a single turn, creating board states opponents can't answer.
