Vivi starts as a 0/3, but every noncreature spell you cast puts a +1/+1 counter on him and deals 1 damage to each opponent. He also has a {0} activated ability — once per turn, on your turn — that adds mana in any combination of blue and red equal to his power. The bigger he gets, the more mana he generates.

How it plays

Cast noncreature spells to grow Vivi and ping every opponent. Use his {0} ability to convert his growing power into free mana, then spend that mana on more spells that make him bigger still. The engine is self-reinforcing — each spell adds a counter, each counter adds mana, each mana cast more spells. Chain enough noncreature spells in a turn and you can deal enormous damage to the whole table while staying mana-positive throughout.
