Witherbloom is a 5/5 Elder Dragon with flying, deathtouch, and one of the most powerful cost-reduction abilities ever printed. He has affinity for creatures himself, and gives every instant and sorcery you cast affinity for creatures too — meaning the more creatures you have, the cheaper all your big spells become.

How it plays

Flood the board with creatures to reduce the cost of your instants and sorceries. With enough creatures in play, expensive game-ending spells that would normally cost 8 or 9 mana become almost free to cast. The deck is built to combine a strong creature base with the most impactful instants and sorceries in black and green, creating turns where you cast multiple massive spells in a single go.
